MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE  (Available from April 2023)

A Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) course covering techniques that help the lymphatic system to function effectively.

It can be used to clear congestion, waste and fluid from the system. It is indicated for fluid retention, swelling (oedema), cellulite and relaxation as well as help to detoxify the body and boost the immune system.

On this course, you will learn:

• Structure and function of the lymphatic system Main lymph nodes in the head, neck and body

• Structure and function of vascular system

• Interrelationship between blood and lymph

• Client handling and consultation

• History of Manual Lymphatic Drainage

• Contraindication to Manual Lymphatic Draining Massage

• Explanation and demonstration of lymphatic drainage massage techniques including the four basic strokes and additional methods, that can be sequenced and applied to any part of the body

 

PREGNANCY MASSAGE (Available from April 2023)

£150.00 (Pre-requisite - NVQ/ VTCT or equivalent Level 3 Massage)

The Pregnancy Massage Course will give you both the theoretical and practical knowledge you need to provide safe, relaxing and beneficial prenatal massage to expectant mothers.

You will learn the techniques used to provide effective treatment and gain an in-depth understanding of pregnancy massage. Pregnancy massage (or prenatal massage) differs from other kinds of massage. It is important to know the differences.

You will learn about the best time during pregnancy to start prenatal massage and how it can help in different ways through the three trimesters of pregnancy, including how it can help both mother and baby.

You will gain an understanding of the anatomical and emotional changes of the mother-to-be during her pregnancy, which will help in deciding which techniques are best for the individual.

You will learn the different types of massages that can be performed on a pregnant woman, how to do them, and the advantages of each technique.

In addition, other complementary therapies are discussed, such as aromatherapy, and how these can be used alongside massage for the benefit of the client.

 

HAWAIIAN LOMI LOMI MASSAGE  (Available from April 2023)

The Lomi Lomi massage training course is perfect for therapists who want to offer their clients the ultimate massage.

It is a unique healing massage derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii. One of the alternative names for Lomi Lomi is the 'Loving hands' massage.

Lomi Lomi helps to release any energy blockages within the body and assists in balancing the physical, mental and emotional well-being. The full body massage is given in fluid, rhythmic motions using the forearms as well as the hands,

One of the unique features of this massage is that different parts of the body can be massaged at the same time.

This course introduces the massage therapist to the theory and practice of Deep Tissue Massage techniques which develops on from fundamental diploma courses in massage and/or sports injuries.

WARM BAMBOO MASSAGE

This massage offers a deep tissue massage for clients without leaving you the therapist tired and without the strains to your arms and wrists.

The bamboo sticks come in different sizes for different techniques and are heated, which really helps to stretch the muscles and soft tissues to increase mobility and promote relaxation/ pain relief.

This unique massage involves using heated bamboo rods of various sizes to knead and roll out knots and relax tense muscles.

These unique techniques deliver an incredible sensation of relaxation and calm to the client but is great as a therapist's tool in that it reduces the fatigue and stress to the therapist's hands, wrists and body, allowing you to work deeply and more effectively in less time.
